Become A Volunteer

As a volunteer-driven organization, we are always interested in welcoming new volunteers and their pets.  Your pet must be gentle with people of all ages, have an even temperament, and be up to date on the required vaccinations.

Pets on Wheels volunteers must be at least 18 years old.  Minor children may volunteer only in conjunction with an adult volunteer and children are not able to handle a pet within the facility.

If you have a loving pet and would like to spend time visiting people in a nursing home or assisted living environment, simply download the volunteer application and pet health certificate, then mail or fax the completed forms to our address. Upon receipt, we will set up a time to interview you and your pet, then work to place you with a facility within your community.

• Volunteering gives your pet the opportunity to share its unconditional love.  Some volunteers have noticed a positive change in their pets after volunteering.  They have commented that their pet seems much happier because they have a purpose.

•  FUND RAISING & EVENT SUPPORT - Help with planning, coordination, and attendance at events.
  
   
• PUBLIC RELATIONS - Our best publicity is word of mouth.  If you know people with loving pets who would enjoy visiting with senior residents, please encourage them to volunteer with us.
  
  
  
• SPECIAL PROJECTS - Please contact us if you or your group is interested in working on a special project with us.
  
  
• SPONSORSHIP - We would like to collaborate with businesses that share our vision of pets making a dramatic difference in all our lives.  Please contact us if you would be willing to sponsor future fundraising or volunteer appreciation events.
